I'm with a few other comments here, if you've gone to the trouble of buying them,this really could have done with length, loft, lie and swingweight measurement comparisons. Either way, i think these irons along with the Kirkland's , Eleven driver etc show just how much we're being ripped off. A massive part of equipment cost is now covering marketing and player endorsements.

Good review. I do business with companies in china and I have some knowledge when it comes to products like this. Many companies produce many items in China for obvious reasons…mainly cost of manufacturing. However that does come at a price, there are little to no copyright protections in china, so when you turn over your design, specs, etc they are not protected. Items like your P790 irons are most likely the product of what is called a “ghost shift”. Let’s say the TM factory that produces the P790 irons is open from 8am-5pm (don’t quote me on that lol). When the day is done and the factory “closes” the ghost shift begins. This is where workers come in and make the irons you have in your hands using their own materials, paint, components etc. but using the TM molds. Often times these materials are less expensive and subsequently lower in quality. That is one issue. The other issue comes in quality control. Making sure that lofts, lies, swing weight, etc are all within manufacturer tolerances are not done thereby saving labor costs. The price is very tempting (for reasons stated) but you are definitely not getting the same quality of materials or quality control measures you get when buying a set from TM. That being said if you are a beginner and come across a set of knock offs that you like then it may be worth it. I will say there is more variability in quality when it comes to woods over irons. That may be worth a test as well. Keep up the good work 🏌🏻‍♂️.

Guy who does my clubs loves these prices. He fits ppl into a lot of swing science clubs and other component part companies and he’s busier than he’s ever been. Not quite this cheap but there is customer service when things go wrong. Great video, jay!

Awesome video. Did you happen to put the temu set on a loft and lie machine to see if there specs were consistent. Also if you do that, could you see if you can bend the 4 iron to adjust loft and lie?

Why didn't you measure the club lengths and swing weights compared to a real P790 and include that in the video? Someone said they're half an inch shorter than standard irons. Please include that info in a pinned comment in this video after measuring.

My dad maybe getting a set of these for his birthday from me 😂 he wouldn’t know the difference and they would be better than his 10 year old ping irons.

There’s versions on EBay where they have tons of shafts options. But no clue if the shafts are real

When you take into account the millions TM spend on advertising, freebies to Pros, media stuff etc etc etc...the cost difference may not be as big as it seems. Only real concern would be how long it would take for a head to fly off or cave in..

Weak point could be shafts breaking after a while & grips falling apart? Taylormade won't be happy😂 Borrowed a Mizuno 223/225 combo set today with a view to purchase. The difference in distance & forgiveness compared to my MP54s was far more than I expected. £560 4-PW 🤔

£250 vs $1399 extremely tempting.

I was having this debate at my club today, and i have to respectfully disagree with the headline, not the content. In 1984 i purchased my first new set of clubs, had played used clubs for 15 years previous, i was so proud of my Wilson’s, so i kept the receipt. 3-PW £225 1,3 and 5 woods £215, a small fortune at the time, i would suggest it makes the driver about £100. Early this year I was fitted for an AiSmoke max and paid £499, (nobody pays list price, do they?) inflation over the 40 years? Well economists say money doubles every 7 years, we have certainly had many years double digit inflation. So 5 times the price makes my driver cheap. The new Wilson driver is under £300. The expense of golf is relative to your personal circumstances and lifestyle choices. Personally i think modern equipment is great value, golf is my passion and i plan to enjoy it, that includes occasional nice new shiny clubs

I have yet to see any pro use a 7 iron on the 11th hole at Augusta 30 yards out. 🤷‍♂️….i think it works in the UK but in the states we have a more aerial game. You see it with the pros when you watch tournaments, they’re always using wedges.

I thought Phil mostly used the same wedge to chip around the green (and there seems to be a lot of amateur Phil disciples that also advocate using a single wedge, claiming that it's easier to master one club rather than multiple clubs. However, I'm with you and choose the club based on carry and roll.

Cobra King Tour Irons are extremely good and usually over looked by most golfers. King Tours were able to give me the height and spin I need to hold greens even with longer irons. Mizuno Pro243, srixon Zx7 mkii, titliest T150, and etc just couldn’t give me the height/spin I was looking for. The cobra king tour iron is really forgiving too for the players style design!. I’m a medium handicap and these clubs give me plenty of confidence to play them.

I had my heart set on the Mizuno STX 230 driver, but ended up buying the Cleveland Luncher XL (2023 model, brand new) for half the price of the Mizuno, and about 40% of a Taylormade. I had the shaft shortened by 2inches, and I love it! Yes it is noisy but I don't care. It has given me so much more confidence and significantly reduced my slice.

Just got a 7 wood and a 5 wood g430 max and love them both so easy to hit and they launch so high

Another great review . I have played both and the Srixon ZX-5 MKII lasted about a month due to me not getting along with the thick V-Sole. The turf interaction wasn't good for me. I think sole width and design is very important and what works varies from player to player. I prefer irons with thin-medium width with leading edge relief. I keep going back to my 2015 OnOff Kuro Irons .

I’m trying to decide between mizuno and Taylor made hybrids. Thoughts?

As a 25/30 Handicapper I just did a fitting today and got fitted into the 923 Forged. Was doing research and am shocked I was not put into the Hot Metals the fitter had me test and he said either are good for me and I choose the Forged. But now from everything Im reading, my handicap I should have been more into a Game Improvement Hot Metal?

Aspiration, ambition and immediate satisfaction. How much are we willing to spend to think we will improve straight away. All carbon should be miles cheaper than Titanium shouldn't it?!
